Photography

When I got a smartphone with a decent 5mp camera I was always carrying a camera.  I was teaching English classes in La Cartuja, the old Expo site in Seville which is now a science and technology park and I always had more than enough time to go from one company to the next.  As I walked slowly between the various companies I was working at I began really looking around at the details and noticing what I have called Naturally Occurring Art – it might be paint peeling off a wall resembling a face or the momentary arrangement of a few leaves in the shape of a face, or the shape of a drying puddle or stain on the ground. The more I looked the more I saw. I loved these images and started photographing them so I could show people what nature had made.

The results of that work are the photographs in this section of the site. I hope you find them as interesting and enjoyable to peruse as they have been for me to find and photograph.

Naturally Occurring Art Project

This project was born of a desire to share what I think are interesting naturally occurring images. They were digitally captured for their uniqueness and transitory presence; they were there when they were captured but some were gone hours, minutes or even seconds later, repossessed by the nature that created them and briefly exhibited them freely for anyone who cared to see…

There was absolutely no intervention or manipulation of the subjects on my part, I just photographed what was there.

All photographs are available to purchase as 4 or 5 inch square professionally framed prints depending on the individual print and come beautifully boxed and signed. They are ideal as unique gifts
